New Gibraltar Gambling Act: Command Paper Issued & Consultation Commenced

The Government of Gibraltar has today issued the Command Paper on the draft Bill for a new Gambling Act. A consultation period on the Command Paper has now formally commenced and will be open until the end of August 2022 (although consideration of the material and constructive input is being encouraged as soon as possible).

The Gambling Division will be holding a number of workshops and consulting with the Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association. Furthermore, they are encouraging companies or sub-sectors to come forward and seek individual meetings if preferable. A licensing framework, fees document and codes of practice (including a social responsibility code) will also be issued shortly for consultation.

We will shortly be issuing our thoughts on the key changes and impact this may have on the local industry. We would be delighted to speak to you to consider the implications for your business or to coordinate and facilitate any relevant representations to the Gambling Division/HMGoG.
